The problem is not in file size limits, but in bandwidth limit. That severely limits the amount of people that can access a site (not to mention download anything) per month. Most free sites have limits of up to 100 MB per month, which means that (given that SubTerra is 7 meg) 14 people can download it each month. Which is very few. Problem? Yes. -------------------- Pieter Simoons, aka Radiant Official Crystal Shard and SubTerra webpage Posts: 798 | Registered: Monday, December 17 2001 08:00 |

RapidShare says that it has unlimited number of downloads per file, in the first question of the FAQ. Posts: 11 | Registered: Wednesday, March 30 2005 08:00 |

It also says that "if nobody downloads your file for 30 days, its deleted automatically." And, "No files that are not allowed to be shared. (...copyrighted...) Obviously, SubTerra is copyrighted. And, lowest download-speed priority unless people pay for the download. -------------------- Pieter Simoons, aka Radiant Official Crystal Shard and SubTerra webpage Posts: 798 | Registered: Monday, December 17 2001 08:00 |

Well, considering you have the copyright, you most certainly have the right to distribute it for free. The "No files that are not allowed to be shared." line is to avoid software piracy. Distributing a game you have the copyrights for is not software piracy. You are "allowing SubTerra to be shared". The deletion ofter 30 days thing might be a problem; but you can always re-upload it once there are some people intrested again. As for the low download speed, it's better than nothing, isn't it? I don't like downloads that takes for freaking ever. X_X And it's quite irritating and hard to remember to re-upload when nobody downloads it for 30 days. -------------------- Current SubTerra level: Control and Contain Completed/Pending: Emerald Sparkles Factory, Nice Vibe Posts: 20 | Registered: Monday, February 14 2005 08:00 |

@darkmatt: Do you prefer a slow download that requires occaisonal updates, or no download? ;) That's about the choices. RapidShare, though not great, is about the closest you can get to a free, good host for any files. @Radiant: With a little work (and, unfortunately, somewhat cheating RapidShare), you could create a program that automatically downloaded ST once every thirty days.
