In Geneforge 1, the Shaper is probably the easiest class, as long as you let your creations do all the fighting for you.

I'm about halfway through Geneforge 1 and i'm plowing through it with a Shaper. I've been tinkering between Tricky and Torment and it's been relatively easy.

I'd say agent was the easiest. Because the skills don't increase in cost, tthey can be pumped up to amazing standards. My level 13 (or so) agent can deal over 100 damage average with her searer - and so on...
