I remember my dad bought exile:3 awhile ago. Man i loved that game, i have been replaying the shareware version and some of the features/details still stack up to some of the recent games. I especially liked the way the town would get pissed off when you stole stuff. Did spider web ever consider doing something like a mod of a existing game? (like they do with shooter like HL2 and Unreal tournament) -------------------- GW: HugoDePayenz PSN: HugoDePayenz Watch what you think, because they can read you mind. quote:While it is nice you've at least read Alex's comics, it wasn't the time or the place to bring up Homeland. How would you like it if somebody thrust it at you? To answer the question, there aren't any mods for any Spiderweb games, but there are is a scenario creation kit - BoA (which is a remake of a scenario creation kit made with the Exile engine; BoE). Also, check out the Avernum series. The first 3 are remakes of Exile 1-3, with an engine overall. If you loved Exile, don't worry, content-wise, nothing is lost, and a lot is added. -------------------- Nikki's Nook - La maison de mon rêve? What just a little pointer out? Anyway, you can get Geneforge if you like a more original plot and universe, I'm sorry but Avernum has no originality, its still fun, though. -------------------- Vivan los Drayks! Viva Khyryk! You misunderstood me, I was asking if spiderweb ever considered trying to make a mod using another game engine. I am not all too familiar with turn-based rpgs, but i know i have seen some mod-able real-time ones. Just asking, i love using mods (after i have played the heck out of) on shooters and stuff. -------------------- GW: HugoDePayenz PSN: HugoDePayenz Watch what you think, because they can read you mind. Short answer: No. Long answer: If any such content DOES exist, it certainly isn't made by Jeff. Spiderweb is a business-- why in the world would Jeff waste his time building stuff on other engines when he could instead be building (And SELLING) games on his own engine? -------------------- "NOW PASS ME MY BOOTS. Uh, actually, Jeff has said that he's likely to license someone else's engine for his next universe. Not a shooter engine, because what the heck does that have to do with what Spidweb has made thus far? But someone else's engine, nonetheless. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Smoo: Get ready to face the walls! Making a mod isn't the same thing as licensing someone else's engine so you can use it to make your own game; at least not by my understanding of the term. -------------------- "NOW PASS ME MY BOOTS. For some reason I can't decide if the engine Jeff would licinse would be a modified version of the Basilisk games engine, or a different one. -------------------- Ornk Meat and Guacamole --------- $6.00 Gazer Tentacle Stew -------------- $10.00 =:T:= Posts: 454 | Registered: Monday, August 20 2007 07:00 |
