My karma is currently listed as Not Rated, but I predict that very shortly after this post is made, it wil probably raise to 1 star by at least 2 votes.

Edit: And now, I have six votes, at 2.46. I suspect about half of the people who voted gave me one star just because I posted on this thread and didn't say anything meaningful, and the other half gave me 5 stars just because it's unexpected.

Edit: And now I have 2.63, and 8 ratings.

Its Fatman not fartman (obscure? movie reference)

And the reality is I've only ever voted for two people (Kel and TM), neither was a 1 and it was really early on in my posting career.

If I was to be fair, You wouldn't deserve a 1 either (what have you done that is really offensive?)

Oops, it's *I and not Kel that I rated.

My karma started with one star(not really surprising, as two years ago I did not know how to post on a forum...) and now is 2.40 after 15 votes. HOnestly, I'm just posting for Imban's one-star vote because I'm tired of the number 2.40. It adds up to 6 (2+4+0=6) and 6 is not a prime number.

If i rate you a 4 it would move you back to 2.4. Would that would be just plain mean, or would it be cause for celebration (a high rating)?

I'm sort of glad I didn't permit ratings. I wonder what would happen if I let people rate me?

I have rating 1.30, from 4 votes. It's slightly irratating, despite being meaningless.

EDIT: Voted fatman's karma as 5! "w00t"

I'm sitting at a karma of 2.08, and don't particularly care if it drops down to one.

Instead, I'm posting to see if Imban is actually giving people who post in this topic one star.

That makes absolutely no sense. I know UBB sucks, but please. I would've guessed your rating had something to do with you being pro-Bush, but I could be wrong :P

Yes, we had a successful political topic a little before the election and shortly after I joined. It ended up being SW vs. ben and I gained votes faster that you can say "one star". Since then, it has steadily gained, but new votes are few and far between and usually subject to punctuated equilibrium.

However, when I said that some people's votes count more that others', I meant just that and wasn't referring to my rating. ;)

I recall, or am making up, that each subsequent vote is worth less than the preceding vote. Perhaps the simplest way to figure it out would be to ask the good folks that made the software??

Please Aran, tell me you have that topic. :P

And on another sujbect, I just noticed I have gained a positive vote! The vote (probably four stars) pushed me from 3.40 to 3.47.

I would venture that no Spidweb political thread ever could be described as "successful".

For a political topic, "successful" might mean "going beyond five pages without flames".

...

Uh.

Point.

Well, yes, but you admitted you were, so rather than seeing if my total number of votes increases by one, I see if it increases by two. The integrity of the experiment is retained.

To all my favorite people (those of you who din't give me a 1, and maybe even a few who did)thank-you for your support.

In celebration, I will give out 4's to whoever asks, starting with Casual Moose.

And, In even greater celebrationary news I change my moniker to Fartman (Alorael)

41 people have deemed me worthy of a 4.02.

I feel special. I'm pretty sure I've done my best to only rate people ones.

On another note, I was actively avoiding this thread. Failed, I guess. But at least I stayed off-topic.
