You most likely do not have an official version of AIM. If you're using a thid-party client such as Trillion or Gaim, that link will not work. I have AIM 5.5 with DeadAIM installed, and the link works fine for me with Firefox 1.5.1. This should not be a big deal, however, because most third- party clients let you invite yourself to an AIM chat. The link is there mostly for the benefit of AIM Triton users who do not have the ability to invite themselves to a specific chat. Edit: Someone who knows more about this than I do might be able to tell you how to associate a protocol, but I don't.
