There are many things I could say right now, but owing to the filters they will have to be said privately.

I thought you were Alec. Then I was so sure you were BtI, because BtI has "Belisarius" as a title on Desp. Now you post a picture of General Custer, which once again makes me think you're Alec.

So which are you?

He's the artist formerly known as Alec.

Really? Alec's back? No foolin'? Wow, maybe things will start to get interesting again.

Actually, having just woken up and seen all the wonderful topics (the cmd Edward incident, mainly) makes me wish I lived in a different time zone.

In that case, welcome back sir. I think the boards have suffered from your absence.

As a hilarious twist, his name is not and never was Alexander Kyras.

I'm not going to tell you what it is, although you can find out on your own if you look really hard through old archives from other forums.

One time, at band camp, I got drunk and urinated on Custer's ashes. Let's see... July 15th to February 5th... just under seven months.

Well, I can't say I'm surprised. Nor can I say I'm displeased (or pleased). I think I can only say that this was expected and neither desired nor dreaded.

I give this thread and its message a great big "Meh."

EDIT: I stand corrected. Belisarius has been here this whole time. Some of his writing has sounded very much like Alec, and some of it has very much not (at least to my ears).

Conspiracies within conspiracies. I suspect Drakefyre and Alorael are also not who they seem. Also, we need a :phear: icon here.

I thought the same. I assumed he was a Desper who'd spent a lot of time around Alec and picked up parts of his style, but was overall a better person. Since Alec is no longer Alec, maybe that's even somewhat true.

There's really no need to bring that up, Kel... if he intends to stay, it's best to ignore that.

True, but I believe it's :ph43r:, if you must.

You stayed away longer than I'd expected, Alec, and I'd like to congratulate you on not contradicting yourself. You knew you'd return eventually, I'm sure, which is why you didn't say you wouldn't. Your new reincarnation has been productive so far, and I welcome Belisarius to Spiderweb.

Welcome back, Belisarius!

And you know, after looking at Kel's post and the attached threads, I'm freakishly glad that I wasn't paying attention to the boards at election time...

What is a clever man like you doing in Utah?

Belisarius was invincible; he died never having known defeat on the battlefield, a feat precious few men known to history can equal - and his relative obscurity owes to an unfortunate hostility of Enlightenment scholarship towards the later Roman Empire more than anything else.

Custer was a mediocre general who died in a politically expedient way. And also a flamboyant dandy.

Your call.
