Avernum V.

Jeff has made it quite clear that AVV is coming. Someday.

In complete honesty, I don't want another Geneforge after giving it a lot of thought. G3 really, well, soured me on the Geneforge story. Exremist views on both sides, each more dastardly than the other, with no middle ground left.

Blech.

Of course, a whole new game would be great. Not Avernum, not Geneforge, not Nethergate. New. Perhaps using AVIVs engine but a whole new story, plot, new concepts, races, and creatures.

Mmm.

G4 is the most likely, unless Jeff wants to do something completely different.

I think Geneforge 4 would be fantastic, if it were done properly.

…Oh, hang on a minute. That's what I said about Geneforge 3—

Genevernum? What would that entail? Planar colission? Hacking through both dervishes and Battle Betas? Personally, I would like to see a Nethergate sequel.

At least, as Jeff indicated, GF4 will have a new direction in that you will not even be a shaper this time around.

Cool! In that case, it would certainly be properly done. I felt that Geneforge 3 should've expanded the player's horizons a bit, and that would've been how I did it.

I hope the Shaper Council pulls off the kid gloves in 4, and starts tapping into some of their barred projects... Becoming the enemy to fight the enemy, and all that.

I'd like to see a Geneforge that can be used by humans again. That's probably the thing I missed most in 2 and 3.

I believe "could" would be a better operative for this. If it turns into a typical stream of do these quests or an open ended find a Bob and do the missions sort of thing, I'm gonna squirm.

I was bitterly disapointed with G3... But to give Jeff the credit he deserves, he did AVIV right.

It really is a well done game.

The engine and execution is well done I grant you. However, the plot is pathetically predictable and would have been a lot better had it been just about ANYTHING else.

I think a fair number of people have speculated that the Shapers and the vahnatai are really the same. If I'm not mistaken, there's a BoA scenario that implies that.

And yeah, we can be pretty sure it's GF4, then A5, and then probably GF5.

When GF4 does come out I feel that this 4 game long war will end. Kill hoards of shapers and eventually the council, or kill hoards of rebels and... well you get the point. It's about time that the battle ends. Of course there would be more to the plot then that.

As for AV5 It should rap up the plot too. Avernum declares war on the Empire and kills them. After all these plots can only be streched out so far, before the game gets dull and predictable.

Nethergate 2, can't really see it. I mean it's based on a real world war between Celts and Romans. It could only last so long before it dived into full fantasy.

And last. Genvernum, imagine: During the two wars are over the two worlds meet each other Shapers and the Empire they team up. Then, the Rebels and Avernum unite to crush their foes.

I can even see a Genevernum 2: After the war against the foe is over the two winning nations battle each other. Rebels are insane and Avernum isn't. The Empire and Shapers both want to control the world and what not.

Wow. The idea of a Genvernum is horrifying.

Isn´t A IV already a Genevernum?
I mean ´cause of the graphics and engine?

I think it´s just like Geneforge without Shapers and their stuff.

Avernum V will be about Avernites and the EMpire finding out that they live in a prision planet. They'll find out a spaceship, the mages will find out how to make it work, and then AVERNUM V turns out to be a SCI-FI RPG!! After many generations of emprisionment, who did this to us? Why? Where are they?

Hummm... Nah. :P

So it´s for sure, the Vahnatai were our overseers but we were stronger. Their trying to regain control about the surface failed! :P

Or do I got just to many bad ideas because of Rentar? ;)
