Out of curiosity, (and the fact that I need help) does anybody here do Flash Animation? Like, in Flash MX? I've been playing around with it and have made a few short animations with sound but the one thing I can't figure out - How to zoom in. I mean, I know how to zoom in in the editor but I mean like in the movie itself. You know, like it's a scene of a street and then it zooms in on a certain person walking down the sidewalk, etc. So, anybody?

Nope, sorry. :(

I just use Flash Player for all those online games.

If you don't know, then don't post unless you have something relevant to say. Honestly, you should know this.
I don't know for sure if this is the best way, but have you tried selecting everything and using the Free Transform tool to make everything bigger?

Yeah, I considered that, but that would make it zoom in on the center....but now that I think deeper, I could probably do that and move it around so that it's centered on a certain object....I'll try that, thanks.

Does anyone know the difference between the regular version of Flash (about $360) and the student version (about $100)? I want to get Flash, but I need to know if it's necessary to spend the extra $260. I asked my Web Design teacher already. He looked around Macromedia's website, but could not find any explanation of the differences.

I'm pretty sure you get exactly the same product, but with a discount for educational users. (Unless you're actually talking about the difference between Flash and Flash Pro, which is something different again.)

So would I be able to buy it, since I'm taking a Web Design class that involves Flash? It's not necessary for the course, since all the work is done in class, but would I be able to get it nevertheless? Does it have a set period of use that expires or something?
Please forgive any incoherency in this post. It's late and I should be going to bed but I want to read the boards first.

If you're a full-time student with a student ID card and everything, you should be able to. But hell, don't ask me, phone up their enquiries department and find out for yourself.
