Step 1: Upload it to a website that allows direct linking to images. Step 2: Put the image's URL in the picture field of your profile. Before you ask, no, there's no way to put your picture in your profile without putting it online somewhere. -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! Roots Hunted! Is this really a glitch? -------------------- So, as the great Groxy, I have come back to be served by goblins. In the "main hall" of the goblin cave was a large totem which resembled very much of... me. Posts: 437 | Registered: Friday, May 13 2005 07:00 |

Maybe every new topic in tech support from now on should be named "Spiderweb Glitch [insert next roman numeral]." Let's do it. -------------------- -ben4808 For those who love to spam: CSM Forums RIFQ Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

What an interesting idea. Or the forum moderators could go through the whole Tech Support board and change all topics to "SpiderWeb Glitch (roman numeral)" or "Spiderweb Question(roman numeral)". :D -------------------- How many shapers are there? But not all would be like that, as some people have troubleshooting tips/help for the games. -------------------- Mugglenet--The ULTIMATE Harry Potter Site. Polaris-- New location. Posts: 2396 | Registered: Saturday, January 29 2005 08:00 |

The fundamental problem of these topic titles being horribly uninformative remains. -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! Roots Hunted! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

Your point is? It means that you actually have to look at the topic. It doesn't take long, even on a dial-up connection (which I've got) - Archmagi Micael -------------------- "You dare Trifle with Exile?" - Erika the Archmage -------------------- My Scenarios: Undead Valley : A small Undead problem, what could possibly go wrong? -------------------- Proof of Richard Black's existance: Richard Black - PROOF of his existance (the Infernal one's website). They are a bit uninformative. But its better than if you were having trouble with the graphics in a game, and you set the topic title as 'Exile 3 Help.' The titles actually tell you what they are about: A glitch or other on the SpidWeb forums. -------------------- Mugglenet--The ULTIMATE Harry Potter Site. Polaris-- New location. quote:Tech Support isn't a discussion forum; by and large, people don't read topics here for the sheer unbridled fun of it. Therefore, it's good form to make it as easy as possible for others to help you, which preferably includes a concise but informative description of the problem in the topic title. -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! The first thing you need to do is sign up with a webhost. Specifically, one that allows direct linking to images. The commonly-known free webhosting services don't allow direct linking to images, so you'll either have to pay or look around a little. There are also services specifically for allowing you to host images, some of which allow some degree of direct linking; you might want to take a look at those. I'll leave it to you to construct an appropriate Google search query. -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! Roots Hunted! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

Geocities offers free webspace. It's easy to use and will allow you to host images and direct download files. [ Monday, May 23, 2005 07:24: Message edited by: Dolphin ] -------------------- Nena Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

Er, last I checked, Geocities forbade direct linking to images. Has this changed? -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! Roots Hunted! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

The link doesn't seem to work, so I can't see what you're doing. Once you have uploaded the picture it should have a web address, or if you are using one of those providers that puts the page together for you just use the option “open image in new window”. That should also provide a web address. -------------------- Nena Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

I'm using Geocities. I checked the link, and your right, it doesn't work. I'll fix it up later; now is not the time. I have to go to school in 10 minutes, and I'm yet to have breakfast/read the newspaper. -------------------- Mugglenet--The ULTIMATE Harry Potter Site. Polaris-- New location. He doesn't need to make the page. 1. login to your account go to the “file manager”, and than to “upload files”. 2. Find your picture on your computer . It must be a gif or jpg, so use graphics converter or some other program to save it as one. 3. Than press "upload", and return to your file manager. There will be a list of all your uploaded files. Find your picture, and press "view". This will open your picture in a new page. Copy the url and put in into your reply post with the . -------------------- Nena Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |
