If anyone in Australia (or rest of world) has heard about the fires near Port Lincoln South Australia that started on Tuesday 11th jan 05, i am sending out a please help call. 9 people are dead, 3 missing & over 50 homes have been destroyed by the largest bushfire South Australia has seen in over 35 years. I am writing to ask if anyone could please get your town to start a fundraiser for all of the families who are left with only the clothes on their back. I know this is very soon after the tidal wave that destroyed so many more lives and homes but these people also need help. For any members who live in Australia this plea is especially for you, you all know what bushfires do to our county, well this is as bad as Ash Wednesday 21 years ago. But I am sure that here there are also the type of people that would do what they can for you and yours. I hope your search goes well... But I do remember the bushfires up in the Blue Mountains a couple years ago at Christmas. I had gone to someone's house for Christmas Eve and the sky was all red and dropping ash here and there. I'm glad I wasn't in the Blue Mountains at the time. But as for the SA ones, this is the first or second I've heard about it. I hope the bushfires stop soon. Is Port Lincoln near Adelaide? My town gives far less than we should. It's sad, but it's reality. Hoax's do not have to go to funerals. I knew before i wrote that not many would help or be able to help. I just wanted Australia and the world be aware of just how devistating this sort of thing can be. unless you have been directly effected by this sort of thing then you can have no real idea. But you know straight away who has been effected.
