Alcibiades wasn't a fantastic hoplite general. I seem to remember he did some good work at Potidaea in his early years as a junior officer and he did as well at Mantinea with what he had as could have been expected. But primarily he was an admiral. And a trireme certainly beats a horse.

EDIT: Besides, Alcibiades was an Alcmaeonid. A member of one of the most prominent Athenian noble houses fights with the cavalry wherever possible. I doubt a racehorse could take down a warhorse and rider.

It seems to me Nobody can beat anybody facing nobody. Can Charlton Heston and Arnold S. face each other? Even though Heston is in poor health, he could still bring down the power of god against Arnold who can barely call upon his cybernetic powers, as much. Though he did defeat the big bad daddy by killing himself and will that count? Heston has, lest we not forget, practice his fist fighting against futuristic sand, that's gotta count.

Even though Secretariat is a hell of a racehorse, I'd assume that Alcibiades, and important man as he was, could get the fastest horse around for this fight, or couldn't he?

One question before I keep assuming wrong:
Can you pitch people from the same subdivision, or do you have to pitch them from different ones? Can anybody basically choose the contestants?
(nevermind, re-reading the posts has answered me how this fights are arrenged)

Wiseman vs. Siberia. Tough to veer it on Wisey's favor. If he could somehow wrangle Haley's comet and bring it upon that heretic land. . . nah, it already survived a meteor, maybe haleuy's comet might be better unless it melts by overtaxing of the gulag's citizens as they apply a gigantic blowtorch made out pine wood at it as it comes down. Hmmm. That big asteroid with the female's name might do it, though it'd likely take a bit more of the world in the process, thus, probably, disquilifying Wiseman for overzealous disregard for the well being on non-costentants.

As far as Alcibiades and Secretariat, on second thought great horseman as he might have been, this pitches him, the man, against Secretariat, the Stallion. No chance. Unless he can somehow use all he learned in those lonley nights in the battle field and somehow seduce Secretariat before the Mighty Steed kicks the brains through the vertebral column making the poor hoplite develop an unnatural tail.

Alcibades vs. Secretariat:

Approach the horse with a salt pellet. Stab it repeatedly once it gets close.

Wiseman vs. Siberia:

If Tunguska couldn't kill them, he ain't doing it.

Uh... no.
Read the nomination topic and it will make sense why your brother is not allowed and wouldn't win anyway.

Yea, I wasn't around when this topic was first started, but I'm going to have to say that the worst man ever from 1970 to today would have ot be Pol Pot.

Maybe Alec has been warned that writing a new post for each matchup would constitute as too much spam.

Actually, a new post in this topic without a match up would be even worse spam. Therefore...
