Since I just can't seem to deal with the 2D gameplay, I have to go with Avernum. Like Kel, I really like isometric gameplay. -------------------- Stughalf "Delusion arises from anger. I will admit, i do like the graphics alot better on avernum. I like the exile graphics too though because they're easier to modify, which I happen to like doing. :) If exile wasn't 2-D, I'd probably be okay with that too though. -------------------- You can take my Windows XP when you pry my cold, dead fingers off the mouse! Wow- 08's reasons? I prefer Exile but probably only because it was the first game of its class that I ever played, giving it a magical appearance to the 12 year old mind. If I were to start over I might choose Avernum but I doubt it. Edit: Err when did Exile come out? 1995 around? Since Exile was rather certainly the first game to be released by Jeff Vogel, and it is somewhat unlikely he'd found a company before his first game were ready for release, I'd guess the release date of Exile coincides closely with the date the company was founded (which was November 1994, if you hadn't noticed). -------------------- The Encyclopaedia Ermariana <-- Now a Wiki! quote::D :D :D [/b][/quote]You imbecile. The point of my statement is that you, in essence, said you liked Avernum's graphics, but you'd like Exile's graphics if they were Avernum's graphics. (If they weren't 2-D, to be specific.) It's like saying you'd like onions if they tasted like pineapple. It's an absurd and irrelevant observation. You said it. I didn't. Djur, I don't think his statement was as coherent as that, really. He said he liked Avernum's graphics, liked Exile's graphics, and would be okay with Exile's graphics if they weren't 2D. That's just nonsensical, really. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. I voted Avernum. Even though I started back in 1997 playing the Exile series, which I loved at the time, I liked the avernum more, mainly because of the faster way you can communicate with everyone in towns. Exile had this dialogue box where you had the enter the correct words or you wouldn't make it. Also I live in a Spanish speaking country and English is my second, that makes another point. -------------------- "Hot kabobs, cold beer, can't beat it." Avernum. I've never registered the exiles. I've tried a couple of the demos, and they bore me. I relize that many people disagree with me. This is just my opinion.
