No, it doesn't. Spiderweb already made a futuristic game and it didn't do to well-- Galactic Core. I would have liked to play it, but it is only available on MacIntosh. I don't know if Spiderweb would do a space exploration roleplaying game. You have a scout ship and go to different worlds to explore them. It gets upgraded between missions. There is a crew of a landing team of four people. There would be two extras who stay on board-- a pilot and a scientist, etc.

I don't see Jeff doing any large scale strategy games.

Galactic Core isn't by SpidWeb. They just host and sell it.

Jeff doesn't read these boards.

Jeff couldn't take suggestions from these boards if he read them. In fact, he'd carefully avoid taking suggestions to avoid lawsuits.

Jeff already has his next few games planned. Even if he read these boards and didn't care about lawsuits, you'd have better luck suggesting in a few years.

Well, that's not entirely true. He certainly can't take suggestions about story ideas, but he's perfectly allowed to take non-radical suggestions about gameplay.

"Futuristic games" is well inside the story aspect, though it's far too general for its execution to cause a lawsuit.

Still, I'm perfectly fine with Spiderweb sticking to fantasy. In my mind, it beats sci-fi by several notches (though both have their perks). There are companies making science-fiction RPGs, Spiderweb is making fantasy ones, there's a market for both, so everyone is making some profit. Why should they switch genres?

I, personally, like the fantasy settings of Exile et seq. However, if you really wnat a space trader game, then try Escape Velocity.

Can only second that. If there is one game that made me revise my opinion of science fiction games, it was EV Nova. Absolutely fabulous. :)
