Randomizer, I just tried your suggestion (downloaded a new copy and moved the save file over), and the game crashd in the same spot. At least, I was in the same tunnel, at the same point in the fight--I didn't even have time to notice the guilty monster spawning in before the program quit.

I recently started playing A4 (Mac universal version). No problems until I got to Hinkle--the old guy north of Cotra with the basement full of chitrachs. The Mindspinner Chitrach (sp? for obvious reasons I never get to look at it for long) in that fight shows up as a little rectangle of static rather than its actual graphic; it can hit me, but when I interact with it the game crashes.

The obvious first thing to try is reinstalling the game, but before I fuss around with that, and then re-registering, has anyone had this problem before? Or is it totally idiosyncratic?

I'm using a pretty new Intel Macbook, btw.
