there are five creatures and once you get the last fang you get the purefang bracelet which gives you +1 to each shaping and +1 to creature end, strngth and dex. I disagree with the1kobra about being an agent tho - I managed to get that purified essence past the exp gamma at level 20. You don't need the bracelet at all if you're an agent tho. I think playing games in the opposite order in which they were released, ie, playing the oldest last, is very difficult. Exile 1-3 had a lot of different tweaks and improvements as the series went along and playing older games can be quite fustrating. The Avernum series sees less adjustments esp 2 and 3, but you can still feel the difference between 1 and 2 in terms of user interface like the right mouse click action.
