Hello, I'm an old fan of Nethergate and the Exile series. Hearing that Avernum is a modern remake of that classic I decided to try the demo. Well the title screen loads fine, and I can create my party. However once I try and actually start the game I get the first two splash screens of back story and then the game freezes. The actual gameplay engine never loads. Has anyone had any experience with this title in a 64bit OS, or Vista in general? Perhaps there is an emulation software I can run for 32bit compatibility? Fortunately for you, this problem was reported before (here). It's a problem with Vista, so set the game to run in XP compatibility mode. Presumably, it will then work. Dikiyoba. Edit: Fixed link.
