Minimizing in Avernum 4

Whenever I open Avernum 4 (in Windows), it immediately minimizes a little bit into the intro music. I have to maximize it, and often repeat this process as many as ten times or more before the game screen stays up. Anybody have any experience with this problem?

Try shutting down every un-needed programs running and try again. There might be a program that is the cause of this.
Personally I haven't experienced this with A4 though I have had this problems with other games.
