Win BoA keyboard bug

When I try to select a character or conversation topic by pressing a number, nothing happens.
I need to press SHIFT+number to get it work.
Does anyone else have the same problem or is it my configuration?
I *did* try switching capslock. I din't yet try to switch numlock though.

Mystery solved ... seems that, unlike other programs (including Geneforge?), BoA (+win98, not sure on others) honors *default* keyboard layout instead of current keyboard layout.
