I just downloaded avernum 3 (windows version) and I get an error popup straight away. It says "DirectSound error: Failed to create sound buffer". HELP! Every time I close the dialog box, it pops up again!

Have you installed Avernum 3? Or did you just download it? I'll assume you've attempted to install it. What version of Windows do you have?

It's probably a driver problem, although I don't know how to remedy it. Shut down all non-essential programs and try running it again. Otherwise I'm not sure.
