How can i get through the plant without getting poisened every five seconds?

Move around in combat mode. It prevents you from losing health too quickly, and makes it so you can see how much is left.

You can repair the plant.
A container along the east wall has the key to the inner plant.
Get in, kill a couple golems and click on the crystals.
