I'm a rebel, and I keep getting stuck. I can't get the general figured out, and I started from square one once or twice and figured I'd downplay the rebel stuff, in fact at one point I got a note about how I wasnt as loyal to the rebels as I should be, etc. but I went to see the Lord and got thrown in jail! I sighed and saved and closed the game, I can't see how, as a rebel, I can repair anything (even get in) or get off the island. This is the first time I've ever thought that I had to buy the hintbook. I'd be more inclined to do so if it was in a PDF and I could have immediate gratification... You are allowed to help the Shapers as a rebel in order to get to the creator. Just help Rahul and the island will become easier. Posts: 127 | Registered: Wednesday, February 20 2002 08:00 |

Thing is, I went to Rhaul and as soon as he saw me, he threw me in jail...might be because I picked up the rebel canister and he can tell? (I still have it on me, never went back to the rebels because I didnt know which way I wanted to go with that...) Posts: 30 | Registered: Tuesday, September 2 2003 07:00 |

Did you use a cheat script that gives you special items? If so, do you have the Summoning Orb? Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

You're a genius, I'm an idiot, I had been screwing up so many times I figured to just get to Dhonal's I would use that and then play the rest of the way through, and yes I have that orb. I. am. going. to. scream. I have started and restarted this game so many times, I am so frustrated, I am not a gamer (does it show) and this is the first time I've just gone nuts doing things, serves me right. I should know better than to just take someone's edits at face value. Posts: 30 | Registered: Tuesday, September 2 2003 07:00 |

Yeah, unfortunately that Orb is supposed to be given to you by the rebels nearing the end of the game. I told the person who made the editor about that orb, but I guess he didn't remove it. There are other cheat scripts around here that don't have the special items. If you still want a cheat script I'll look into it for you and find one of the ones that doesn't give you the items. Edit: Okay, try this one. Hawk - Please update your editor. [ Thursday, June 16, 2005 18:58: Message edited by: Aurelia ] Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

Thanks -- I saw that mentioned in the thread, once you said summoning orb, I checked the game, checked the forum, and saw that it was put in, and no mention was made of which item it was. Now, one more question (I hope!) when I replace this , will I have to start a new characteR? Or go back to the training grounds and read everything again? I can't imagine, with my limited computer knowledge, that just replacing the file again would fix it with my current character... This game seems to give less leeway than the other ones, even before I started screwing around with this -- perhaps because there are only 2 sides? I'm just getting a totally different feel from it. I don't know how you can get rid of special items, so I would say you would need to start over. You can't get off of the island unless you get rid of the orb, as it prevents you from doing the quests you need to do to continue. To be safe save your game before you do anything using the cheat scripts. Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

Thanks for all your help -- I need to think now, one of the slots I have may be a game before I got the script, if not, I guess it's time to start all over again. At least I know what items to keep an eye out for when it comes to some of the quests! :) Posts: 30 | Registered: Tuesday, September 2 2003 07:00 |

The only time I used the cheat scripts was while I was testing them when they were released. For the most part I agree that playing legitimately is more fun, but dbugkill is very useful during the fifth time through the game. After that many times through I was going for specific events, items, or answering someone's questions. If people find it more fun to cheat that's okay too. Like I mentioned, the reason I was using the code is this game had me stuck so many times, I kept getting stuck after days just getting through the third island and kept getting stuck there WITHOUT CHEATING. Having to start from square one doing the same mundane things over and over was really frustrating, and I just wanted to zip through the first two islands and then go through the third (and hopefully the later ones) at a normal pace. Dbug kill to get through some of the earlier islands means missing out on some conversations that may be useful. Using a script means I get to have most conversations (Except in this case where I have that freaky script). So I feel that since I already at least attempted to play legitimately quite a number of times, for a number of hours, cheating isn't so bad. So tell me don't cheat all you want, if I had all the time of the world, no job, and no kids, I would probably try over and over again until I figured it out, too. I guess I'm just a cheating loser. Bad bad Kibbles. *cries* Posts: 30 | Registered: Tuesday, September 2 2003 07:00 |
