Where are all the brooches? I read Erika's journal, but I can't find Grim Cavern. And which spiders have that one. I found the dragon ones though. Please help.

With the spiders I assume you mean the GIFTS. they are north from the big Nephilim castle at the edge of the map. thy have a cave there. Its also west from fort Draco. when you get there, find the spider chief and talk to him about some mission. You get a quest to free a baby spider (or was it an eggsac?). When you did that, He will let you into a cave were empire soldiers were trapped. there is the brooch (Or am I confused with avernum 2, were you find in their cave a red empire pass?).

Actually, if you keep having trouble with the brooches, there are many websites who have wakthroughs. Just look at the "neat stuff" section of the spiderweb homepage.

The Grim Cavern is the Spiral Crypt near Mertis.

—Alorael, who can tell you that the fifth brooch is also in Mertis, but you need to talk to a prisoner in Dharmon first.
