How come when i use essense pods they never give me any and how do essense pools work?

I assume you have creations with you. If so, the case is that creations will take up the essence needed to create them, so, if you have 20 essence, and you have a 15 essence creation, you will never have more than 5 essence as long as that creation still lives.

With Essence and Health pools you (and your creations) just need to stand next to them and your health/essence/energy will regenerate fairly fast.

(note, this also works in combat mode but of course it's slower)
