Disapearing NPC

Hi,
I have a NPC who disappears when I leave a town,
but reappears when I enter a new town.
Question: does the NPC need a separate graphics
sheet for a town and another sheet for the surface?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm pretty sure you mean that they don't show up graphically, but I assure you that the person is still in your party. To check, simply cast a spell on character 5 or 6.
