Am I right in that a strength of 11 for a posion/disease special property on a floor will have a 5 percent chance of inflicting one 11-sided die of damage? In other words, 1-11 damage? The docs say there's a base 60% chance of dealing damage, minus 5% per point of strength, and inflict a single die of damage with as many sides as the strength. That doesn't seem like a lot... -------------------- -Newtfeet Posts: 151 | Registered: Saturday, July 13 2002 07:00 |

It's not in damage - it's in layers of poison. -------------------- "At times discretion should be thrown aside, and with the foolish we should play the fool." - Menander ==== Drakefyre's Demesne - Happy Happy Joy Joy Encyclopedia Ermariana - Trapped in the Closet ==== You can take my Mac when you pry my cold, dead fingers off the mouse! Ohhh... So a strength of 11 would be a 5% chance of 11 layers of posion? -------------------- -Newtfeet Posts: 151 | Registered: Saturday, July 13 2002 07:00 |

Sometimes I look at how I did something, shake my head sadly, and say "What was I thinking?" This is one of those cases. Having floor with a powerful effect have almost no chance of inflicting it? What? In all versions of BoA after Mac v1.0, swamp and disease terrain will have a straight up 50% chance of inflicting their effect. The strength of the ability is the number of levels of poison/disease that are given. -------------------- Official Board Admin spidweb@spiderwebsoftware.com Posts: 960 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2001 07:00 |

Cool. However, I still have a question. How do levels of posion/disease translate into HP damage? -------------------- -Newtfeet Posts: 151 | Registered: Saturday, July 13 2002 07:00 |

It depends on the PC's resistance to poison/disease. But supposing a resistance of 0%, how would it translate? -------------------- -Newtfeet Posts: 151 | Registered: Saturday, July 13 2002 07:00 |

It's impossible to have a resistance of zero. The actual HP damage is generally between 1-10 for one layer, 15-30 for two, and between 30-50 for three. Poison, with lots of layers, can be devastating.
