Until there's a better porting function, none. It's a waste of time that could better be spent making new scenarios. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. It's not at all practical to port a scenario to BoA, but it may be an interesting exercise to remake a scenario in BoA (though it's highly unlikely anyone will do so). By 'remake' I mean take the original scenario, and rather than just doing it all over again, make it the way YOU would have liked the scenario to be done. An adaptation, not a copy. Quintessence would be the perfect candidate for something like this. It has a great premise but (in my opinion) a pretty flawed execution. Also, the 3D factor could make walking around on the gem pretty trippy. Items and creatures aren't ported reliably; neither are a few of the terrain and floor types. Some special nodes aren't ported either, and the ones that are ported are converted into pretty clumsy scripting. Dialogue has to be redone manually. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

Walls generally have to be remade, too, because in BoE, walls take up one space, while in BoA, they really ought to take up two. So generally one has to redraw all the walls in the towns and outdoors, re-write most of the custom objects script, re-write all of the dialogue, re-write most of the town scripts, and... yeah, at that point, the porter hasn't really done much for you except made a set of towns that are the right size and the right size outdoors. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens.
