how exactly am i supposed to get something finished at this dungeon? i started exploring it, but ran into this Lycan who just kills my party right away, with no chance to fight back. i have no clue what he is, what i should do, quite depressing. anyone got a hint how i can continue exploring the dungeon? can i maybe trap him somehow? right now i am back at the entrance, he followed me, and of course i have no old save since the monsters this far were killed without much trouble. You can't kill him. You were meant to keep from waking him up, basically by avoiding the western hallway. There's a warning about this in the readme. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

Well, the other hallway is a much less fatal choice and thus one that logic should dictate you take. The readme just warns you that you really AREN'T supposed to be able to beat it, if you keep trying for some reason. Posts: 3234 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |

to clarify the problem: i already figured out that i cant kill him, but he keeps following me - how the hell can i stop him from doing so?? he keeps casting spells at my party, so continuing with exploring is impossible - and no warning sign, no barrier, no bones and corpses, nothing that could have warned me to go there. :( but well, i guess its time to use the editor to warp my party out the scenario and restart *sigh* Posts: 4 | Registered: Tuesday, January 11 2005 08:00 |

What, you mean you encountered him and SAVED? :( If you have level 3 or higher of Arcane Shield, cast it on your rear member and have another member hasted. Luckily for you, EM's stairways don't have combat blocks. Send your hasted character to the stairway as quickly as you can manage. Also, summoning things to distract Lycan is a wise idea. It's not impossible to escape, even if it's Damned Tough(™). -------------------- * Posts: 6936 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2001 07:00 |

well, yes, i decided its time to save before opening any doors - and right after saving my leading char was hit by a spell, quite to my surprise, it took me some seconds to notice the little greyish figure down the hallway, who didnt look dangerous or impressive at all, so i thought "lets mash this ghoul or whatever its supposed to be" - haha, surprise :o i hoped there was a solution beyond just avoiding this area, like luring him somewhere and trapping him (like rahotep at "stone prophet", if anyone played that), but like i said, i will just use the editor and be more carefull next time :) Posts: 4 | Registered: Tuesday, January 11 2005 08:00 |

You shouldn't need to warp the party out of the scenario, just out of town. I'm pretty sure Lycan's location resets if you leave town and return. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |
