I've just finished DWTD in a marathon session starting with ZKR. I enjoyed both of them (a lot more than "A small rebellion" certainly!), but have a few questions that I hope someone can answer or give me clues... In ZKR, is there anyway to get that mushroom protection other than trading the dragon scroll for it? I tried to go through the mushrooms without it, but after something like two weeks in the stupid mushroom patch I gave up and traded the dragon scroll. In Diplomacy, Is there any way to get into the little room in the Inn that has no doors? I tried every wall square for a secret entrance with no luck. Secondly, where is the stupid apprentice? I've searched the entire map and haven't ever found him. Sorry for all of the questions, but I really enjoyed these two scenarios and am wondering what I missed. Also, is there a list anywhere of the "Special Skills" and how to qualify for them? I think that Sharpshooter requires bows over 7? Quickstrike seems to require Dex over 8 and Melee over 10? Magery requires Mage over 10 and Arcane lore over 10? I've also got an item that improves my 'Gymnastics,' 'Magical Efficiency,' and my 'Blade Master' but I have no idea how to qualify for those skills, nor just what they do. Any help would be appreciated! :P -------------------- ------------------------------ Daniel C. Stillwaggon Posts: 13 | Registered: Monday, November 15 2004 08:00 |

You may find a few here who have rather different opinions of ASR, ZKR, and DWtD. Heh. As for special skills, I made a list here. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Smoo: Get ready to face the walls! You'll soon find that most here hate ZKR (I think it's fine, but that's probably because I enjoy a good long dungeon slog and care less about story) and love ASR--or, in some cases, dislike it 'cause of JV's politics. Anyway, Kel's link is good for special skills. I *think* there's another way to get through the shrooms in ZKR, but I'm not 100% sure, and I think that room in DwtD is impassable. Well, you can get past the shrooms without the charm, but it takes a long time. The best thing to do is take the shroom charm, then break into her treasure room and steal the scroll. Of course, this makes Morog hostile, so kill her afterwards (hey, she's an undead, it's no great loss to the world). The apprentice in DwtD is behind a secret passage outdoors, to the west of Vahkohs's castle. You can get the shroom charm and the emerald information(?) with some smooth negotiating. Then steal the scroll. Posts: 1233 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

You don't actually need the information about the opal in order to get the opal. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

Thanks for the skills link, that was exactly what I was looking for! (and for the apprentice hint too! I'm going to go ahuntin') I've seen people's opinions about the scenarios on the ratings board, but I don't get it. I found DwtD to be a much more interesting, and challenging, game than ASR...oh well, takes all kinds as they say! :P -------------------- ------------------------------ Daniel C. I don't get the people who've played the games, looked at CSR, read the ratings, disagree, and don't say anything. Post your opinion and rating, especially if it's different from the ones that are there! It doesn't have to be deep or profound, just "I liked it because I thought the plot was interesting" if that's all that you can manage, and give a number from 1 to 10. Everyone benefits if the ratings are more representative of what most players think. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens.
