Hey everyone, I just downloaded Geneforge a week ago. It was so good, I bought the full version and beat the game. The point is, now I'm making a FAQ/Walkthrough for it. Does anyone have any suggestions/comments on what I should put in it? Also, any bugs/glitches, tricks for getting around certain areas, easier paths to places would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! PS> Anyone who contributes to the FAQ will be given full credit. -------------------- FAQs In Progress: Geneforge Pokemon Fire Red/Leaf Green Uplink: Hacker Elite -- FAQs Completed: Insaniquarium Deluxe http://www.geocities.com/freaky_dairyman88/faq_insaniquarium.rtf Posts: 6 | Registered: Monday, April 11 2005 07:00 |

Maybe put an order of difficult for gaining levels(ex:Bandits Woods, Ruined School,...) from the easiest place first, then finish with the hardest. Put also a List of the most powerfull items, like the God Equipment (the best). Maybe with a Creations guide, with how much that cost when its with 2 Intelligence, or how much when fully upgraded (with full green dots in the stats screen). And a walkthrough, thats sure you should put that ;) . I think that would be a good FAQ/Walkthrough. With version history (ex: 01/04/05 Made Creations guide. 23/04/05 Finished Walkthrough). -------------------- Finished Sub2 levels: Shop"keep"er Machinery Complex Machinery Complex2 Machinery Complex3 Machinery Complex4 Munchkin City In progress: None Abandonned: T.E.L.E.P.O.R.T Sub-Way Posts: 80 | Registered: Saturday, November 6 2004 08:00 |

A pretty good walkthrough exists. See links at top of forum. -------------------- It is not enough to discover how things seem to seem. We must discover how things really seem. Posts: 3335 | Registered: Thursday, September 4 2003 07:00 |

I'd probably get some meatshields (low ranking fyoras or thalds) before adventuring. Get some good items, depending your class (guardians get swords, shapers get batons). -------------------- And everybody say....Yatta! Posts: 1287 | Registered: Thursday, August 14 2003 07:00 |

I got a bug, if you want to write it on your FAQ/Walktrough. It is in the area just north of Kazg, if you go where there is an entry of a house, and the servile try to go out, he will walk near you, like he want to go out, and he will continue to walk, but he will not move. It's a little hard to understand, but i cannot take a screenshot. -------------------- Finished Sub2 levels: Shop"keep"er Machinery Complex Machinery Complex2 Machinery Complex3 Machinery Complex4 Munchkin City In progress: None Abandonned: T.E.L.E.P.O.R.T Sub-Way Posts: 80 | Registered: Saturday, November 6 2004 08:00 |

It kind of sound like you may be blocking his path. This can be done slightly off to the side as well. Sorry if I am misinterpreting what you are describing. -------------------- Nena Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

Dolphin: Great idea! I will add that in somewhere. You will be credited. Nephil Archer: I did explain the layout first, the text 'Walkthrough' next to number 3 is just the name of the section. The layout comes first, and then the 'Location Guide' (Walkthrough) follows. -------------------- FAQs In Progress: Geneforge Pokemon Fire Red/Leaf Green Uplink: Hacker Elite -- FAQs Completed: Insaniquarium Deluxe http://www.geocities.com/freaky_dairyman88/faq_insaniquarium.rtf Posts: 6 | Registered: Monday, April 11 2005 07:00 |

I didn't post it anywhere yet, but when I do it will only be viewable from my website (http://flarbland.bravehost.com). If you don't want to check there, you can just keep checking here: http://www.geocities.com/freaky_dairyman88/faq_geneforge.rtf I'll probably put it up some time this week. EDIT: Does anyone know how to get into the temple in Spirit City other than the main entrance as that way you take a lot of damage? Remember those ancient stone pillars that give you a stinging sensation when you rub the bare spot? Touch them in the correct order and you will be allowed to enter the Temple in Spirit City. Find the order where you don't get a stinging sensation (it will be leading to the Spirit's City.) Edit: I didn't post the order so you would have a chance to try it out. I'll tell you if you would rather know. [ Saturday, April 16, 2005 07:26: Message edited by: Dolphin ] -------------------- Nena Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

The only thing i fear is the Walkthrough can be copied and taken to a site. They will just don't credit you and they will say that is them who created this Walkthrough. Maybe put a Copyright on it. It's only an idea... And, i found only recently, but to enter Diarazad, you need to pull a lever hidden by a little tree just south of the entrance. (Make sure to say that the area behind Diarazad is the last because it's the trickiest one.) (I hate cryodrayks when i don't create them.) -------------------- Finished Sub2 levels: Shop"keep"er Machinery Complex Machinery Complex2 Machinery Complex3 Machinery Complex4 Munchkin City In progress: None Abandonned: T.E.L.E.P.O.R.T Sub-Way Posts: 80 | Registered: Saturday, November 6 2004 08:00 |

No, really, why do you feel the need to repeat something that has already been done? There is a walkthrough, and there is a map of all the locations of the game. BY ME. It also has maps of the actual places and info on what items are where. No, it doesn't have them all currently because I haven't updated it in a long while, because no one fricking notices it. Take a look, it's the link that says Riibu's map. Knowlegde exists, all one has to do is look for it. -------------------- "Son--err," her father said, "I mean... cough: I'm sorry that you feel that way. I am aware that FAQ's for Geneforge have already been made, but I fail to see your point. So there have been other FAQs and walkthroughs. Do a search for Pokemon on gamefaqs.com and you'll find tons of FAQs. The more FAQs there are for a game, the more popular it is. And if 'no one fricking notices' my FAQ, it won't matter to me. It's a bit late to tell someone to stop doing something they've already started. Dolphin: Thanks! Only one problem: I can't find any pillars in Diarazad. Is there one? I checked a FAQ that said the order is: Drayk's Vale, Ancient Crypt, Diarazad, Dry Wastes, Western Wastes, Valley of the Wind, Spirit's City. Is that correct? genexile: I would also fear that, but since my site isn't popular, (about 20 people, I assume), I don't think it will be stolen. Do you mean to get a real copyright or just fake it ... ? -------------------- FAQs In Progress: Geneforge Pokemon Fire Red/Leaf Green Uplink: Hacker Elite -- FAQs Completed: Insaniquarium Deluxe http://www.geocities.com/freaky_dairyman88/faq_insaniquarium.rtf Posts: 6 | Registered: Monday, April 11 2005 07:00 |

quote:Close, it's: Drayk's vale, Ancient Crypt, Diarazad, Junkyard, Dry Wastes, Western Wastes, Valley of the Wind, and then the one right outside the temple. Yes there is one in Diarazad. quote:You don't actually have to do anything to "get a real copyright" -- it's a common misconception that you do. Under the Berne Convention, all artistic works are automatically copyrighted under international law unless copyright is explicitly released to the public domain. You should still include a copyright notice to make sure that people are aware of this. -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! Roots Hunted! Do you have started it, yet? Because we got no news... Yet. And, make sure to include: 'You cannot unring a bell.' at the end of the Walktrough. I do not know why, but i like this sentence very much, like i was thinking of it all my whole life, only to find it now. :P -------------------- Finished Sub2 levels: Shop"keep"er Machinery Complex Machinery Complex2 Machinery Complex3 Machinery Complex4 Munchkin City In progress: None Abandonned: T.E.L.E.P.O.R.T Sub-Way Posts: 80 | Registered: Saturday, November 6 2004 08:00 |
