I played it once at wallmart and I think it was a pretty good game.

Used to love the original Gauntlet I and II. I even got quite far in
solving the nintendo version (the only one to my knowledge that has an

The newer Gauntlets are mindless hackfests with no plot, no thinking, and no point. They are viscerally satisfying, but not really intereseting. Dark Legacy, from what little I've seen of it, adds unnecessary complexity and incomprehensible camera angles to the mix to make a truly bad game, since even the hacking becomes difficult.
—Alorael, who would rather fight a bunch of doomguards in BoE with a god party. It's about the same challenge, and at least in BoE there's always a chance at having a plot jump out and surprise you.
