Something I'd been thinking about lately. I didn't see a In Progress or Avernum 5 board so I guess this goes here.

While I don't hate the engine switch as much as some people did, one of the things in Avernum 4 that I didn't like much were how the models were too different from the portraits and seemed to always be in "stiff" poses, like statues almost.

One of my great joys with the Exiles and Avernums was my unique little band, something that didn't carry over with 4 somehow. While it's a bit late to be bringing this up now, it's something I'd like to throw out there.

(and while I'm begging, visual shields would be nice...)

Totally agree about the statue comment. The characters in the geneforged games have way more poses, but as a whole the graphics don't look any better or more.... lively? They seem stiff, like you said.

And usually pre-release hype goes in the last game's forum, so in this case Avernum 4.
