Since it was mentioned this week the prize in Acoustics is for an explanation of the fingernails on chalk board reaction, My favorite is the literature prize, which went to Daniel Oppenheimer of Princeton University for his learned tome "Consequences of erudite vernacular utilised irrespective of necessity", the title of which is an example of what it is about (20 May). I just got a newsletter mentioning the Ig Nobel prizes so if you want a list see this site.
