Guys, I could use all of your help (again). I'm re-doing mum's site for her before the holidays end, and I've got a problem. I'm using two different frame elements (nav & main), and I need it to change both frames at the same time. So basically, when I press on "PORTRAIT CARDS", I need the "nav" frame to load up navigate_p_cards.html, and the "main" frame to load up porrait_cards.html How do I do this??? I hope you know, cause I'm running out of ideas. After hours of hitting my head, I've decided that you lot will probably tell me my answer in about 5 seconds. I'm using html and javascript. Ugly solution: Link to a separate HTML page with the new frames set how you want them. -------------------- "At times discretion should be thrown aside, and with the foolish we should play the fool." - Menander ==== Drakefyre's Demesne - Happy Happy Joy Joy desperance.net - We're Everywhere ==== You can take my Mac when you pry my cold, dead fingers off the mouse! Most solutions with any frames at all are ugly. I believe Javascript allows you to change the page of a specific frame. Therefore, if you make a function that changes both pages, you should be fine... That said, I used the solution Drakey mentioned at my own site. But the navigation of that one is pretty abysmal anyway. [ Thursday, September 01, 2005 01:19: Message edited by: Arancaytar ] -------------------- The Encyclopaedia Ermariana <-- Now a Wiki! Thanks. After a bit of trawling, I managed to find the java code which did this! Now all I have to worry about is re-doing the site. :) - Archmagus Micael -------------------- "You dare Trifle with Exile?" - Erika the Archmage -------------------- My Scenarios: Undead Valley : A small Undead problem, what could possibly go wrong? -------------------- Proof of Richard Black's existance: Richard Black - PROOF of his existance (the Infernal one's website). Tables are way better than frames anyway. Yeah, that's what I was about to say. I tried out frames once, but they're so cumbersome and hard to get to behave right. And tables can split up your page into as many combinations as you can think of, are highly costomizable, look cool, and are totally awesome. Not to mention when you click a link it goes where you want it. Problem solved. -------------------- -ben4808 For those who love to spam: CSM Forums RIFQ Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |
