I can tell that three people have voted for me in my profile. The first vote I got was a 4-star vote, Weigthed Score 4.00. After the second vote I still had 4 stars and a Weighted Score of 4.00. After the third vote now, I found that I still have 4 stars and - oddly enough - a Weighted Score of 3.95. How can this be mathematically explained? Any ideas? -------------------- www.bigblue.de.gg BoA graphics and more Posts: 188 | Registered: Monday, July 26 2004 07:00 |

The effect of a vote on karma is affected by the number of votes you've already received, and probably by the post count and/or karma of the member rating you. It's a fair bet that the phase of the moon is also involved. -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! Roots Hunted! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

Don't forget the positions of the stars. That one is important too. So post count of the person rating you effects the rating too? That is weird... -------------------- Wham Bam Shizam Posts: 247 | Registered: Monday, September 6 2004 07:00 |

Wow, that's an interesting manner of using a voting-system. What happens with the votes when "the moon is in the seventh house and jupiter aligns with mars"? ;) -------------------- www.bigblue.de.gg BoA graphics and more Posts: 188 | Registered: Monday, July 26 2004 07:00 |

Aww, you stole all the good lyrics. I'd have to start another verse to continue. -------------------- "At times discretion should be thrown aside, and with the foolish we should play the fool." - Menander ==== Drakefyre's Demesne - Happy Happy Joy Joy desperance.net - We're Everywhere ==== You can take my Mac when you pry my cold, dead fingers off the mouse! The weight given to your karma votes is affected by your karma. No, not the karma of your account. Your karma. —Alorael, who hopes he was good in his previous lives. He'd hate to vote for no good reason. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

Good night, I'll go to bed now. Perhaps this influences my Karma in a good way. By the way: The influence of the phases of the moon, äh, German or US moonphases??? -------------------- www.bigblue.de.gg BoA graphics and more Posts: 188 | Registered: Monday, July 26 2004 07:00 |

quote:I'll bet that's actually true. That would mean someone with high karma's vote would be more effective than, say, my vote. But what if that person's karma subsequently goes down. You'd think the karma would be somewhat reliable. Maybe Mariann should turn it off because it inevitably takes up "oh so precious" webspace. -------------------- -ben4808 For those who love to spam: CSM Forums RIFQ Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |
