Is ther anyone out there who knows how to setup a Window sprintserver that a Linux compter can use to pritn from? its runnign Kernal 2.4 if thats important. You'll want to use Samba, which implements a number of Windows protocols on Linux. Specifically, you want the smbclient package, and the smbspool program. From there on, you need to configure some print spooler to work with Samba. Most LPR packages work, including CUPS; here is a document on using Samba with CUPS. I figure on most modern distros, you can just install Samba and CUPS together and set up the printer using CUPS' web interface. -------------------- I've got a pyg in a poke.
