So, whilst minding my own business I found a link to Misc., and remembering all of the good stuff you guys said about it went in. And I found this: "Deep Down, You Know You Should Have Voted For Alcritas" What was going on here? Pot parties? Escapes from the loony bin? Help! He is an old and well-respected member of the BoE community. Others can tell you more. -------------------- Stughalf "The death-knell of the republic had rung as soon as the active power became lodged in the hands of those who sought, not to do justice to all citizens, rich and poor alike, but to stand for one special class and for its interests as opposed to the interests of others."- Theodore Roosevelt, 1903. Voting for someone implies an election for a certain position. When was that election, and what was the position being voted on? -------------------- Visit The Santharian Dream and its RP board. Or the Encyclopaedia Ermariana! Got a brain? The second Misc moderator elections. Many felt that Alcritas should have won (even though he didn't desire the position). -------------------- KazeArctica: "Imagine...wangs everywhere...and tentacles. Nothing but wangs and tentacles! Alcritas is: An FBI agent The guy who wrote some of the best, or the best BoE scenarios out there Someone who likes to torture you -------------------- "Oh, North Wind, why frighten others? Alcritas is the screenname of Ian Klinkhamer, a lawyer who also designs brilliant BoE scenarios. He has run nearly all the BoE contests aside from the first. He has won two of them, and you could put forward a fair case for An Apology being robbed. He has a tendency to get into arguments and will never accept defeat. He hates Jeff Vogel with a passion. When there were elections to the position of Misc. moderator, a certain group of people campaigned heavily for Alcritas to be elected, having noticed that there was no requirement for the winner to want the job. He lost out to Lady J, but many still feel that he deserved to win. Ian Klinkhamer is a great man. There have been many, many times where Al would have been entirely justified in personally tracking me down and executing me gangland-style; even if his failure to do so is due to his tight schedule, I still appreciate it. -------------------- Beatoff Valley: A story told out of order. I think all the old SW posts on that election are deleted now, but the Lyceum still has a few side-discussions of it. I just found this today: shameless campaigning . EDIT: my bad, Creator. Hmmm?now that I think about it, there probably were some pot parties and the like involved in the whole ordeal. EDIT: That quote from Hitchhiker reminds me of Saul, Farmer Giles of Ham, and many other such things. And it's true, too. (If we're referring to the first quote on the Lyceum thread; I haven't found any other hitchhiker quotes close by). -------------------- Visit The Santharian Dream and its RP board.
