This is a 'problem' in Blades of Avernum too. Either the definition of the bookcase terrain needs to be changed so it blocks movement and view, or a wall needs to be put on the adjacent tile. I let Jeff know about this, but he didn't respond. Rather hard to get changes when you're just testing a port instead of the original game.
