Hm. Strange. How far have you gotten in the game? Did it occur at a given point, or has it always been like that? The best suggestion I can give is to reinstall the game if you can. Hopefully that would work. -------------------- A few cats short of a kitten pot pie... Radioactive cats have 18 half-lives. I have never run into that problem. A few questions: 1. Where are you trying to talk to these peolple? 2. Who are these people? 3. Mac or PC? -------------------- www.qcdn.org Final Fantasy XI 75BLM/75RDM/75WHM Everquest Online Adventures 60 Wilding 60 Spellbinder Posts: 597 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |

I'm playing on a PC, and it's in the village of Nethergate, and I try to talk to the smith, Cormac, and the chief. I keep getting an error message, and it's like Spiderweb didn't mean for Romans to get that far in Nethergate. -------------------- Knowledge is Power. Lack of Knowledge is lack of Power. Nope, you're not. Did you use the fight-end cheat to get past the instant death nodes? Because you're not supposed to get far in Nethergate as the Romans. -------------------- A few cats short of a kitten pot pie... Radioactive cats have 18 half-lives. Schrodinger is right. Bad things happen to Romans who enter Nethergate (much like what happens to the Celts if they go too far into the Roman's camp). How did you manage to get that far inside?! Perhaphs the ability to get that far into Nethergate as Romans in the error, not the inability to talk to certain people. Posts: 901 | Registered: Monday, June 24 2002 07:00 |

To get there he had to use the "fight-end cheat", a cheat that lets you bypass some traps: Wheneve you end combat mode your party moves a little. This can be used to "teleport" over traps. If you play around with this, you'll figure out a way to control the direction in which you move. Be careful in the village of Nethergate as Romans. The traps are in many places so you should save often. (And since you aren't supposed to ever bypass any of the traps, you will not be able to talk to any NPCs there.) -------------------- Be careful with a word, as you would with a sword, For it too has the power to kill. However well placed word, unlike a well placed sword, Can also have the power to heal. Posts: 2649 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |
