It could not be made with any form of Basic. -------------------- "At times discretion should be thrown aside, and with the foolish we should play the fool." - Menander ==== Drakefyre's Demesne - Happy Happy Joy Joy Encyclopedia Ermariana - Trapped in the Closet ==== You can take my Mac when you pry my cold, dead fingers off the mouse! If you have to ask, the answer is no. :) Look around www.spidweb.com and you'll find a lot of writings by Jeff, which include this information, among other things. I don't remember if he used C or C++ for Exile. My guess would be C for Exile and C++ for Avernum. EDIT: You might find this section of Jeff's website interesting: Resources for Sharaware Developers [ Sunday, April 09, 2006 23:10: Message edited by: Zeviz ] -------------------- Be careful with a word, as you would with a sword, For it too has the power to kill. By saying the answer is no, you mean to say that C\C++ aren't powerfull enough for a game like Exile? I don't have any plans for programming a game, I was just asking out of curiosity. Posts: 43 | Registered: Monday, January 31 2005 08:00 |

I meant that you shouldn't try to write a game like this if you don't even know which language to use. If you are just wondering what Jeff used to make Exile games, it's either C or C++. He said C++, but that was several years ago. He could conceivably have switched to another language. —Alorael, who doubts that he did. He would be unsurprised if Jeff were using the same old Metrowerks CodeWarrior to produce the games, too. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

I though Jeff was much more learned in C rather than C++, especially for Exile, but he could have expanded out a little for Avernum. With more and more features in each of his games, the power of the programming lanugage needs to keep up. -------------------- -ben4808 Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |
