Need help with Spiral Crypt on the Isle of Bigail

I can get out of the crypt by pressing the hidden buttons, but does anyone know the answer to that guy's riddle and how to get access to the center of the crypt?

"Fangs" will appease him. "Teeth", however, makes him attack you. If I rememeber correctly.
