I am in the castle, have taken a long resl, had a knock on my door and it is unlocked. But when I get out I can't go anywhere. There is no note or scroll to read to tell me how to use the secret doors in mine or the next room Have i done something wrong?

After the first time the door's unlocked, go to the north. You'll be sent back to your cell and be given a scroll. Read this and then wait. Eventually, the door will be unlocked again and you can talk with King Vothkaro.

The scroll which tells you about the secret door will be on the table in your cell after you talk with Vothkaro.
