I have a problem in my first A4 game... After getting to the Castle and getting the Quest to find out who the mysterious foe is, I went a bit northwest to gain some much-needed exp (having been trounced in a previous save by Renthar's "unadequate" trap.) After going through Fort Emerald, I found a mysterious Crystal Box, which I took along with no idea what it was for. Imagine my surprise when, after finally beating Renthar's trap, I go back to the Caste to find that the plot had SEVERELY advanced just because I found this box. As a result, the King's advisor is dead, I got to go past Fort Remote, a envoy forom the Vs got killed in Almaria and I have no way to enter said city myself. Is there any way to get inside it now or did this box just **** up my game? Because if it did, I'd like to suggest that it be made unfindable until the plot is where it is meant to be... Because I'd hate for someone else to get as miffed by it as I am. Sincerely, The Q. Posts: 2 | Registered: Friday, January 6 2006 08:00 |

Uh... that's not good. I assume you managed to dispel the barriers in Fort Emerald by yourself, and that's what led to this problem. And you were supposed to make sure that the vahnatai envoy didn't get killed. How did that happen? -------------------- Thuryl: "Runescape: for people who are too stupid to save their games." Yeah -- the barriers in Fort Emerald are supposed to be impossible to dispel on your own. Jeff goofed. It's still apparently possible for you to finish the game, but Almaria will remain hostile forever, which kind of sucks. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Darn. I was afraid you'd say that. The barriers in Emerald were no issue. I just walked up to them, cast Dispel, and poof. Open doors. No even an indication they were supposed to be unbreachable - except the magician who says he'd be annoyed if one did bring them down. Can you blame me for taking that as a challenge? ;-) And as for the envoy, I'd have been happy to save him, had I had but the chance to try. As I said, that whole part of the plot got zapped because of that Box. Ah well, I was looking for an excuse to restart the game with all the data I collected to help me make better choices. Might as well get on with it now... But anyway, is there any way to let Jeff know of that issue? Thanks for the quick replies, incidentally. The Q, off to a new start. Whoop-dee-doo. quote:Given how many other people have experienced the issue, I'd hope someone's bothered to tell him already.
