Ok, I have a character who has a decent dex (14), str (12) and Steel Chain armor. He is not over-burdened and even has the Fast on Feet perk. Why might he incapable of moving more than 3 spaces without haste, 5 with (no adverse spells, effects, etc)? EDIT: Avernum 2 is the game in question. Is this an Exile or Avernum question? You should ask in the appropriate trilogy forum. -------------------- Your flower power is no match for my glower power! Posts: 3726 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2001 07:00 |

It doesn't matter how much strength you have; heavy armor is going to encumber you. -------------------- -ben4808 Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

I understand that there is a penalty (16% or so) in combat to all actions, but my other character has platemail (heavier still with a 20%) and is not penalized in such a manner... I will have to level up some more and dink around to see if I can't divine a solution (as if I needed an excuse to play). :) Thanks though! EDIT: Just read that hardiness might solve it with a few points. :) ADDTL EDIT: Well, crap  . That's ok, wanted to start again anyways. :) [ Friday, August 05, 2005 08:24: Message edited by: Lochmacher ] Posts: 21 | Registered: Sunday, March 30 2003 08:00 |

Actually, the skill you want to put points into to reduce encumbrance is Defence, not Hardiness. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |
