I just bought Geneforge 2 - got the game on CD - do I need to download the patch?

When the game starts up, in the lower right hand corner, the version number of the game is mentioned. The highest version for windows is currently 1.0.1 and for mac it is 1.0.2.

If you have a lower number, then you can update, although it isn't really necessary.
