after playing a few minutes the characers move slow even with fast game option.

i have a amd k6 cpu at 450mhz..318 mb of ram and a tnt2 card...win98

updated video drivers and have direct.8.1

does it run slow on anyone elses?

turned of virus program and memory manager. no differece
.. my other avernum games are fine

It sounds like you should manage without problems. Make sure there aren't any memory-hogging extraneous programs running. If it gets really bad, try turning off sounds.
