GF3 endings

I am playing GF3 for the first time, and not finding anything like the Awakened in the proir two games. Is there only the two groups, Shapers and Rebels? Also, is there an independant/unaligned ending?

There are only two groups in GF3, and it's generally best to pick one and stick with it.
