I set a doomguard to drop a sword (and nothing elce) but when a player kills the doomguard it drops the sword and iorn plate mail what's going on someone help

Every character has default items built into the corescendata.txt file. You should create a character identical to the doomguard and just have it set to drop the sword and have no armor.

Personalities? Are you referring to the thing that lets you define NPCs that you can talk to?

im talking about the thing that is in the edit charicter that says that you don't need to change unless the charicters are freindly

That's probably it then. Each NPC that you want to the player to be able to talk to needs to be assigned a separate personality number.
