Isn't the chief spider supposed to give you the mission to get the eggs and give you the password to get passed the guard spider like in BoE? I can't find the option for any of that.

I think, you have to talk first to the Vahnatai Baia-Tel. He gives you the hint to ask spider chief for a special artifact.
