Thinking about the complex dialogs that are possible in BoA, I was wondering if we could come up with a simple way to structure a Word Processed Doc, a DB, etc. so authors could write their dialog beforehand, expressing all the branches that could take place depending on user choice. It seems to me such a tool would be quite valuable. -------------------- All that we see, or seem, is but a dream within a dream. The dialogs will probably be in the same format as Geneforge 1 & 2, seeing as the scripting language is the same. The system for GF, with dialog nodes for each conversation point and checking dialog options against SDFs, stats, items, etc. seemed like a very efficient method. Given that, I'm sure either Jeff or some other community-loyal programmer will create some tool to facilitate making dialogs. If what you're saying is that you want this tool available beforehand, you'd have to ask people with programming skills to create something with a good interface that would offer ways to create the scripted dialog file from its component parts. -------------------- 5.0.1.0.0.0.0.1.0... A tool from scratch would be nice but improbable. What I'm thinking of is a way to structure a word processed doc so dialog could be written then easily transfered into the scenario. -------------------- All that we see, or seem, is but a dream within a dream.
