I'm wondering if there is anything you can do to the altar in the deep caverns Morog sends you to. I did a few searches, but couldn't see anything related to that altar. I've cast ritual of sanctification 4 times, but still haven't been able to do anything.

No, you can't destroy or damage that altar.
